Esnek Endoskoplar: Esnek endoskop nedir?

Esnek endoskop, esnek bir şaft-kabloya sahip olup, genellikle elden uç kısımı uzaktan kumanda ile kumanda edilir. Daha dar ifadeyle, tamamen fiber optik endoskop demektir , bazen fiberskop da denir, bu sayede entegre mikro kameralı videoskopdan ayırabiliriz

Esnek endoskop nasıl çalışır ?

Optik olarak :
Nesne, objektif lens üzerine tutulduğunda, bir araya getirilen ince cam elyaf demetleri tarafından yansıtılmaktadır. (her bir fiber çapı genellikle 4 µm ile 18 µm arasında, ve fiber sayısı da yaklaşık  3,000 den  20,000 e kadar olmaktadır). Bu görüntü- imaj- demeti , optik olarak elde tutulan esnek endoskopa aktarılır , büyütülür, vizördeki lensten gözle görüntülenir. 

Mekanik olarak :
Esnek endoskoplar, ucu oynayan başlığı olan, esnek şaft-kablosu olan, ve el kumanda aparatından oluşmaktadır. Uç kısmındaki objektif lens, tasarıma göre 2 veya 4 yöne hareket edebilen Bowden telleri ile kumanda edilen sensör ile kontrol edilmektedir. 

Aydınlatma
:
Esnek endoskoplarda, ışık genellikle dış ışık kaynağından görevi ışık aktarmak olan cam elyaf-fiberleri ile uca kadar aktarılmaktadır. 

WOLF esnek endoskoplarının özellikleri nedir ?

WOLF esnek endoskopları, hassas mühendislik çalışmasının sonucudur.  Şaftlar-kablolar, her biri 2mm çapındaki görüntü taşıyan fiber demetlerinden oluşmakta , ışık demetine sahip, uç kısımı Bowden telleri ile hareket ettirilen,  çok hassas içi delikli bağlantı ile birbirine bağlanmaktadır.  

Robust-sağlam Bowden telleri elle kontrol edilir. Cihazı kullanan her hareketini hisseder, bu zor şartlarda kullanım için çok önemli bir özelliktir.

Flexible endoscopes

What is a flexible endoscope?

An endoscope having a flexible shaft, typically with a remote-controlled tip. In a narrower sense, it refers to pure optical-fibre endoscopes (sometimes the term “fiberscope” is also used to distinguish it from videoscopes having an integrated micro-camera).

How does a flexible endoscope work?

Optically:
The object is projected by an objective lens onto a thin bundle of ordered (!) glass fibres (each fibre diameter typically ranging from 4 µm to 18 µm and the number of fibres from approx. 3,000 to over 20,000). This “image bundle” optically transfers the image to the handle of the flexible endoscope where it is enlarged and made visible by an eyepiece lens.

Mechanically:
Flexible endoscopes consist of a movable tip, a flexible shaft and a handle. The tip including an objective lens and a sensor is controlled from the handle by means of Bowden wires in 2 or 4 directions depending on the design.

Illumination:
In flexible endoscopes, light is usually transferred from an external light source via separate glass fibre bundles to the tip, where it emerges.


What are the features of WOLF flexible endoscopes?

WOLF flexible endoscopes are small masterpieces of precision engineering. Shafts some of which are only approx. 2 mm in diameter contain image fibre bundles, lighting bundles and Bowden wires which, in the controllable tip, are guided in an ultra-precision hollow-link chain.

  • Robust Bowden wires with manual control. The user feels how the equipment reacts – which is an important feature under the tough conditions of use.
  • Versions having a true objective lens focussing capability.
  • Extremely short heads, i.e. suitability also in tight bends in tubes.
  • High-quality, coated multiple-lens objectives, exchangeable in some versions.
  • Shaft usually sheathed with an optimised tungsten wire braid.
  • Shaft and tip not penetrable by water and most technical liquids.

When should a flexible endoscope be preferred to a videoscope?

  • Flexible endoscopes allow a direct view by the human eye – the best and most photosensitive camera!
  • Apart from a light source, flexible endoscopes do not require any additional equipment (usually resulting in a lower total price, less weight, and less transport volume).
  • Owing to their design, flexible endoscopes have shorter heads, so they can be introduced into tighter bends than videoscopes.
  • Flexible endoscopes are available with diameters which are significantly smaller than those of videoscopes.
  • Flexible endoscopes have no electronic components installed in the tip, i.e. they are less heat-sensitive (no sensor noise) and less hazardous in ignitable atmospheres.

 

 

Videoscopes

What is a videoscope?

A videoscope is a (usually flexible) endoscope with an integrated micro-camera (Chip on the tip).

How does a videoscope work?

Optoelectronically:

Similar to a digital camera, the object is projected by an objective lens onto a sensor which produces an electronic image signal. This signal is transferred in the endoscope via a thin cable to an evaluation unit in which the signal is processed and made available as a standard signal (usually TV PAL or TV NTSC).

New on the market is the VIPAQ™ technic. This is a videoscope with a direct USB digital output  to the computer, and additionally a normal S-Video (Y/C)output. Any electronic control unit is unnecessary. The complete electronic is inbuild in the handle. More about this? Klick here

Mechanically:

Flexible videoscopes are mechanically similar to flexible (optical-fibre) endoscopes. They consist of a movable tip, a flexible shaft and a handle. The tip including an objective lens and a sensor is controlled from the handle by means of Bowden wires in 2 or 4 directions depending on the design. The handle may include other control elements (e.g. remote control for image storage).

Illumination:

The illumination of flexible videoscopes is nearly always identical to the one used in flexible optical-fibre endoscopes. Light is transferred from an external light source via glass fibre bundles to the tip, where it emerges (LED illumination we have in test phase, but until yet mostly still too dark).

What are the features of WOLF videoscopes?

  • Robust Bowden wires with manual control. The user feels how the equipment responds – field workers will appreciate this advantage.
  • Mechanical overload protection Click-Warn, to rest the bowden wires
  • Extremely short heads by comparison with other videoscopes, i.e. they can be used in relatively tight bends of tubes.
  • High-quality, coated multiple-lens objectives, exchangeable in some versions.
  • Shaft sheathed with an optimised tungsten braid made of very thin tungsten wires, therefore extreme flexible.
  • Shaft not penetrable by water and most technical liquids.

 

When should videoscopes be preferred to fiberscopes (optical fibre endoscopes)?

  • Videoscopes provide a resolution of several 100,000 camera pixels, which is significantly higher than in flexible endoscopes (6,000 - 20,000).
  • Videoscopes are more light-intense than a flexible endoscope combined with a camera.
  • Videoscopes can be built with great lengths too.
  • Videoscopes are ideal where several people look at the picture simultaneously.
  • Videoscopes need more electronic equipment like controller, monitor or laptop etc.

 

 

Rigid borescopes

What is a rigid borescope?

An endoscope having a rigid shaft, typically with a fixed direction of view. It is nearly always a purely optical endoscope (unlike a videoscope which has an integrated micro-camera).


How does a rigid borescope work?

Optically:
A distinction is made between pure lens and pure fibre-optical systems.

  1. A lens optical system is one in which an intermediate image of the object is generated by the objective lens in the tip. This intermediate image is projected through several lens systems inside the shaft, thus being transported to the eyepiece.
  2. In a fibre-optic system, the object is projected by an objective lens onto a thin bundle of ordered (!) glass fibres (frequently silicate fibres, each fibre diameter typically ranging from 4 µm to 10 µm and the number of fibres from approx. 3,000 to over 50,000!). This “image bundle” transports the image to the eyepiece.


The objective lens determines the field of view, i.e. the size of the area being viewed. In many cases, a prism for a predefined direction of view is arranged in front of the objective lens. In swivel prism borescopes, this prism is mechanically controllable, so the direction of view can be varied.
Cylindrical geometries can be inspected using panoramic prisms which show the entire cylinder periphery at a glance.

Mechanically:
Rigid borescopes do not require mechanically movable components except for the eyepiece focussing device, which is integrated in some cases, and for the angle adjustment device in swivel prism borescopes.

Illumination:
In rigid borescopes, light is usually transferred from an external light source via separate glass fibre bundles to the tip, where it emerges. Small light sources can be connected directly to the endoscope. Bigger and more powerful light sources are connected to the endoscope via a highly flexible light guide (“fibre-optic light cable”).


What are the features of WOLF rigid borescopes?

  • The biggest choice of swivel prism borescopes
  • Swivel prism borescopes, partly with quick-zoom capability
  • NEW completely revised thinn borescopes with highest brillance

 

When should rigid borescopes be preferred to flexible endoscopes or videoscopes?

  • Rigid borescopes usually provide images with significantly higher resolutions than flexible endoscopes and videoscopes.
  • Rigid borescopes are usually much more light-intense than flexible endoscopes and videoscopes.
  • Rigid borescopes are much more robust than flexible endoscopes and videoscopes.
  • Rigid borescopes can be used in a wider temperature range.
  • Most rigid borescopes are considerably less expensive.
  • If damaged, rigid borescopes are much cheaper to repair than flexible endoscopes and videoscopes.

 

 

Technic of Illumination and Documentation

Illumination of the Object Area

The illumination of the objects mostly are to be made through glass fibers. This glass fibers are inbuild in the light transmitting cables, the light guides, as well as the rigid borescopes, the flexible fiberscopes and also in the videoscopes.

Common this illumination is called Cold Light Illumination although cold light isn't exist. But the reason will be that on the tip of the borescopes, the emitting point of the light who illuminate the object area will be relatively cold.

Das Licht wird bis auf wenige Ausnahmen extern in einem Lichtprojektor erzeugt. Diese Lichtprojektoren, oft auch im Sprachgebrauch Lichtquellen genannt, haben handelsübliche Halogen-Spiegellampen eingebaut. Diese Lichtprojektoren besitzen ein Kühlgebläse, um die erzeugte Wärme aus dem Lichtprojektor abzuführen.

Für große Arbeitsabstände, oder sehr dunkle Hohlräume (mattschwarze Innenwände) werden meist Xenon-Bogenlampen-Lichtquellen benutzt, die ein mehrfaches an Helligkeit erzeugen, als Halogen-Lichtquellen. Allerdings ist der elektronische Aufwand der Xenon-Lichtprojektoren erheblich höher. Deshalb sind diese Xenon-Lichtprojektoren auch ca. 3-4-fach teurer, als Halogen-Lichtprojektoren.

Wann Halogen-Lichtprojektoren noch ausreichen, oder wann bereits Xenon-Lichtprojektoren verwendet werden müssen, ist am einfachsten durch unseren Anwendungsberater vor Ort zu ermitteln. Er kommt zu Ihnen ins Haus und demonstriert Ihnen die Geräte.

Sehr wenige Endoskope haben noch an der Spitze eine Glühlampe zur Beleuchtung eingebaut. Man spicht dann von Warmlicht-Endoskopen.

Documentation of Endo Pictures

Alle unsere Endoskope, ob starr oder flkexibel, sind uneingeschränkt dokumentationstauglich.

Da bieten sich 2 Möglichkeiten an, das endoskopische Bild zu dokumentieren:

1. Fotos über eine Digital-Fotokamera

2. Bild- oder Film-Aufzeichnung über eine Videokamera

Zu 1. muss erwähnt werden, dass wir uns hier der Kameratechnik bedienen, die der kommerzielle Markt bietet. Die Digitalkameras werden immer kleiner und leichter, was uns die Arbeit besonders erschwert, eine geeignete Kamera zu finden. Als optimal hat sich die digitale Spiegelreflex-Kamera herausgestellt, da hier die Objektive alle ein Filtergewindebesitzen und somit unsere Endoskope über einen Adapter sehr einfach mit der Kamera zu koppeln sind. Auch bringen diese feststehenden Teleobjektive keinen Bildbeschnitt, wie das bei Zoom-Objektiven der Digital-Kompaktkameras meist der Fall ist. Das heisst, man verliert 20-30% des Endo-Bildes durch die Linsenverschiebungen des Zoomobjektivs.

Zu 2. werden optimale endoskopische Videokameras von uns angeboten. Über sogenannteC-Mount-Objektive (inkl. Adapter) werden die Endoskope direkt an die Videokamera adaptiert. Hier gibt es keinen Bildbeschnitt, da diese C-Mount-Objektive eine Festbrennweite besitzen und optimal auf die Kameras und Endoskope abgestimmt sind.

Zur Bilddokumentation bieten sich wiederum alle Geräte des kommerziellen Marktes an: Digitaler Bildspeicher (USB oder andere Speichermedien), analoge oder digitale Video-Recorder, Direktübertragung des Videosignals auf einen PC oder Laptop mit allen Speichermöglichkeiten, die die installierte Software bietet, über einen sogenannten Framegrabber, der das analoge Videosignal in ein digitales wandelt.
